This blog is mostly professional, but may have some personal notes in it as well, as it affects my professional activities.

Its namesake stems from my PhD research into regional identities in the late eighteenth century in what is now southern Bavaria.

I blog about issues related to information literacy, access to library resources, the environment, and the Historical Geography of Rupertsland.

Biking

Haven't biked since probably end of March when I became stay at home Dad. Back at work now (September)but not biking to work, at least until early November, logistics of getting kid to daycare, and me within easy reach of getting home.

    I should add an addendum to this, it now being almost 3 years on. Spent most of this winter with occasional breaks because when below 20C my glasses fog up, biking when I can (am not trying to get kid to day care) and it's been wonderful. I'm always keen on solutions regarding glasses fogging. Spitting and glycerin are of limited effect.
